We are starting to plan for next year!

On January 21st Sylvia Gurinsky will be joining us for a second installment of "Building South Florida" this time focusing on

Art Deco Architecture.

It's never too early to be planning for summer camp. The award winning Camp Invention will be returning from June 15-19. More info to come at a later date.

Everyone has been asking about the Teddy Bear Tea. Due to a conflict, The Miami Springs Pilot and Anchor Clubs will be hosting the Teddy Bear Tea at the Miami Springs Women's Club! Don't miss out on all the festive fun. Get your tickets below.

Building South Florida – Art Deco Architecture

South Florida's recovery from the economic woes of the Great Depression was aided by a new form of architecture. Known at the time as Moderne and now beloved as Art Deco, it celebrated the community and broke all sorts of barriers. Join history educator Sylvia Gurinsky for a look at how local Art Deco served the public, then the country during World War II – and staged a comeback from neglect as the 21st century approached.

Courtyard Ribbon Cutting

Lisa Nash Memorial & New Lighting

This summer and fall we have been keeping busy making improvements all around the property. Last Saturday we had the grand opening of the backyard courtyard and dedicated it in memory of Lisa Nash. Thank you to Tom Nash, Sherry & Tony Feijoo and Charlie Leonard for donating the funds for the Courtyard expansion.

In addition, the city has recently finished their lighting installation project all around the property. Come and see the improvements yourself on one of our Saturday historic tours at 10 am.

Wolfson Returned for Aviation Month!

We were lucky enough to get a one-of-a-kind look at the history of Aviation in Miami through video from the Wolfson Archives. They showed film dating back to the 1930s of exciting news stories and behind the scenes footage of airlines. Find out more about the archives at www.mdc.edu/archives/wolfson-archives. The evening was made even more special by the addition of a wonderful cadre of retired Pan Am stewardesses and a pilot. Thank you Wolfson & World Wing's International !

New World Symphony Free Community Concert

A trio from the New World Symphony came to give a fantastic performance. We had a full house of listeners who came to show their appreciation. A special thanks to the Miami Springs Seniors Center, Tammy Key, for organizing this event.

Annual Sebastian Strong 5K Walk/Run

There was a great turn out for this year's Sebastian Strong 5K. We are always happy to help support such a worthwhile cause. You can donate to the Sebastian Strong Foundation throughout the year at www.sebastianstrong.org. We hope to sea you next year!

A Recent Visit to the Bass Museum with GMCVB

Thank you to the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) and Miami's own Bass Museum of Art for hosting last weeks breakfast. Happy to be included with other art and culture leaders in our community and be introduced to visiting international journalists. Recommend checking out some of the art currently exhibited including Haegue Yang's, "In the Cone of Uncertainty."
